Privacy comes first

DROPS Belgium attaches great importance to the protection of personal data and the privacy of both our clients and third parties. In every drone operation, we act in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Belgian privacy legislation and applicable European regulations for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

Our drone flights are carried out exclusively for legitimate professional purposes, such as inspections, thermographic analysis, mapping, photogrammetry and technical reporting. We strive to keep the impact on the privacy of local residents and other parties involved to an absolute minimum.

Cookies & website

This website places no tracking or advertising cookies and uses no analytics software that follows you across websites. There are therefore no cookies that require your consent.

Only the details you enter yourself in our contact form (name, company, email, phone, address and your message) are processed, solely to handle your request and send you a quote. This data is not used for marketing and is not shared with third parties. Should this change in the future — for example when we add visitor statistics — we will update this policy and request your consent where required.

Purpose of our drone flights

Drone flights are carried out exclusively on behalf of a client or as part of an agreed professional service. The imagery collected is used solely for:

  • inspection of buildings, infrastructure and installations;
  • inspection and cleaning of solar panels;
  • thermographic analysis;
  • technical reporting;
  • mapping and 3D modelling;
  • documentation of work carried out.

We never collect imagery for commercial exploitation without prior consent.

Protection of privacy

During every assignment, we take appropriate measures to protect people's privacy. We strive to:

  • never deliberately capture people on camera;
  • never record private property outside the assignment area;
  • collect only the imagery that is strictly necessary;
  • plan flight paths so as to minimise the impact on the surroundings.

If people or vehicles are unavoidably visible in the footage, they are only processed where necessary for the execution of the assignment.

Local residents

We understand that drone flights can raise questions among local residents. Our pilots always carry out assignments in accordance with pre-conducted risk assessments and within applicable aviation regulations.

When an assignment takes place near homes or businesses:

  • we limit flight time as much as possible;
  • we avoid unnecessary observation of surrounding properties;
  • cameras are aimed exclusively at the object of inspection;
  • we stop the assignment if the privacy of third parties can no longer be guaranteed.

Processing of imagery

All photos, videos and measurement data collected are treated confidentially. Imagery is shared exclusively with the client, competent authorities where legally required, and internal staff involved in processing the assignment.

We never sell, rent out or distribute imagery to third parties.

Retention period

Imagery is not retained longer than necessary for:

  • execution of the assignment;
  • quality control;
  • legal obligations;
  • any warranty or liability files.

After the retention period expires, data is securely deleted.

Data security

DROPS Belgium takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data against unauthorised access, loss, theft, modification or destruction. Data is stored on secure systems and is accessible only to authorised staff.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • request access to your personal data;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have data erased where legally possible;
  • object to certain forms of processing;
  • lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority.

Requests can be submitted in writing using the contact details below.
