A day full of curiosity and enthusiasm: DROPS Belgium at Open Company Day at DroneDepot

On Sunday 4 October 2026, DROPS Belgium was a guest at Open Company Day, hosted by DroneDepot at Bontebeek 54 in Welle (Denderleeuw), in the Aalst region. It turned out to be an exceptionally busy and successful day, during which we introduced hundreds of visitors to our drone inspection and professional drone cleaning activities.

For our young company, this was much more than just an opportunity to be visible. It was a chance to speak directly with private individuals, families, businesses and other interested parties, answer their questions and show what professional drone technology can offer today.

Invited by a valued partner

DROPS Belgium works with DroneDepot for the purchase and support of our drones and related equipment. When Jordy invited us to take part in Open Company Day, we accepted the opportunity with great enthusiasm.

The organisation ran remarkably smoothly. We were very well supported and, in our view, given one of the most attractive and visible spots at the event. Our stand was located partly indoors and partly outdoors, allowing visitors to examine our van, drones and equipment in the sunshine.

We would like to sincerely thank Jordy and the entire DroneDepot team for the invitation, the support and their trust in DROPS Belgium.

A stand that showed who DROPS is

Our fully wrapped Peugeot Expert formed the centrepiece of the stand. The van was fully opened so visitors could see just how much equipment and preparation go into a professional drone assignment.

Next to the van, we set up a presentation table featuring our largest drone, the DJI Matrice 400, and a smaller model, the DJI Air 3S. The Matrice 400 in particular drew a great deal of attention. For many visitors, it was impressive to see a professional drone of that size up close.

We also had a television screen continuously displaying our flyers, services and various possible applications. This gave visitors a clear picture of what DROPS Belgium can offer for homes, apartment buildings, businesses and other professional sites.

Throughout the day, we handed out plenty of flyers, business cards and DROPS pens. The Matrice 400 and the television screen proved to be the biggest eye-catchers.

From unfamiliar technology to concrete interest

What struck us most was how many visitors were not yet aware that buildings, facades and solar panels can be cleaned using a drone.

As soon as we explained how such cleaning works, curiosity grew quickly. People wanted to know more about possible applications, access to high or difficult-to-reach areas and the advantages compared with certain traditional working methods.

Under suitable conditions, a drone can approach hard-to-reach surfaces without someone having to climb onto the roof or an aerial work platform having to be set up for every initial intervention. Every location is different, of course, which is why DROPS always assesses the surroundings, the surface, available flying space, weather conditions and possible risks in advance.

The visitors’ enthusiasm confirmed that this way of working is still relatively new, yet clearly captures people’s imagination.

Safety always comes first

Several other drone demonstrations took place during Open Company Day. For that reason, DROPS Belgium deliberately chose not to carry out an additional flight.

Having multiple drones flying simultaneously in the same area would have posed an unnecessary risk. For us, working professionally also means knowing when an additional demonstration is not justified.

Thanks to the demonstrations taking place, our exhibited drones and the footage shown on the television screen, visitors were still able to get a good impression of the technology and its possibilities. The feedback was particularly positive.

"Certified pilots, European regulation, risk assessments and professional insurance on every assignment."

An estimated thousand visitors

From around 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., we were almost constantly engaged with visitors. It is estimated that around a thousand people visited DroneDepot over the course of Open Company Day.

The audience was remarkably diverse. We spoke with young families, older visitors, private homeowners, entrepreneurs and company representatives. Some were mainly curious about the technology, while others immediately saw a possible application for their home, solar panels, roof, facade or business premises.

Several visitors asked for our details to share with family members, neighbours, acquaintances or professional contacts. We even received a few concrete quote requests during and after Open Company Day.

Valuable conversations for DROPS’s further growth

For DROPS Belgium, this day was particularly valuable. In just a few hours, we reached a very broad audience and heard directly what questions and expectations exist around drone inspection and drone cleaning.

These conversations also taught us that clear explanation remains essential. A drone is not an automatic solution for every building or every type of contamination. A professional assignment always starts with an assessment of the location, the surface, the risks and the desired result.

By communicating transparently about both the possibilities and the limitations, we aim to build lasting relationships with our customers and partners.

A successful day with a clear message

Open Company Day at DroneDepot was a highly successful experience for DROPS Belgium. The strong interest, the many conversations and the first concrete requests clearly show that there is demand for professional drone solutions for inspection, cleaning and maintenance.

We look back on this day with great enthusiasm and look forward with just as much confidence to the next steps for DROPS Belgium.
